Biography

Pakula was educated at the School of Industrial Art, New York, and the Cartoonists and Illustrators School.

He drew war, spy, horror, suspense and western titles for Atlas/Marvel in the 1950s, including Strange Tales, Battle and War Combat. He drew 'Clark Mason' and back-up features in Wyatt Earp.

As a technical, commercial artist and supervisor of the graphics department, Pakula worked for aerospace programs such as Northrop-Grumman (for NASA) and the Apollo projects.

From the 1980s, Pakula increasingly focused on fine art, especially miniature bronze sculptures depicting US western life and animals, many of which were produced in limited edition.
