Synopsis

The Crimson Claw Gang has been pulling off daring crimes that baffle the authorities, but when the JSA is contacted by a member of the JJSA wanting to provide information re that gang, he is injured. Investigation by GL and Black Canary reveal the existence of a junior version of the gang committing petty thefts. Meanwhile the Flash and Hawkman discover the junior gang is playing right into the hands of the adult gang, and interrupt a crime in progress, only to get captured and on the verge of electrocution.

Notes

Art credits from Craig Delich.

The splash page is basically a repeat of the cover scene with a few minor changes. Even though she is not a member of the JSA yet, Black Canary, in panel 1 on page 4, is referred to as a member. The Brent residence is given as 232 Forest Lane.

The Plight of a Nation! (Part 2)

Synopsis

In Riversend, Black Canary tells GL that a big problem exists with kid gangs that needs to be dealt with, so Green Lantern visits a social worker to learn about the causes of juvenile delinquency and why kids like them want to emulate criminal gangs. Meanwhile, Dr. Mid-Nite and Atom enlist the aid of the JJSA to help in the matter and they enlist Don Brent to infiltrate the gang. At the same time, Hawkman and the Flash bring Eddie Brent to justice for their near-murder. And the Junior Claws discover Don Brent is a mole, so they tie him to railroad tracks to try and scare him.

Notes

Art credits from Craig Delich. Pencils originally credited to Frank Giacoia and inks to John Belfi.

Oddity: In Part 1, Don Brent lives on Forest Lane, but in this part he lives on Hooper Street! Later in this part, it is stated that a Mrs. Peters lives on Hooper Street, the mother of one of the Junior Claws.
