Synopsis
After graduation, Joy goes to live with her father, the warden of an island prison. Joy falls in love with inmate Carl and agrees to help him escape. They make it to the mainland, where Carl admits he is just using her as a hostage. Joy’s father and the police capture Carl; the warden says he’s going to quit his job so Joy can have a normal life.

Synopsis
Betty is engaged to farmer Curt, but when his brother Ralph returns from college, she is attracted to him. Ralph and Betty fall in love and wed; Ralph drops out of school to run the farm, and Curt leaves. Ralph can’t manage the farm alone and asks Curt to return. When he does, Betty realises she married the wrong brother, but Curt says he’s married to someone else and Betty has to live with her decision or get out.

Synopsis
Bonnie travels to Scotland to settle an inheritance, leaving her fiancé Vic behind. Her plane crashes and Vic thinks she’s dead. However, Bonnie had wandered away from the crash and is rescued by an old farm couple. After recovering, she returns to the USA and searches for Vic, but he’s vanished. She returns to her office job. Vic is now working on a ranch in Texas and nearly marries Betty Lou, but returns to New York for one last visit. He and Bonnie are reunited.
