The strip variously titled Bodyguard (from 2/5/48), Ben Friday (from 7/11/49) and the Bantam Prince (from ?/10/50) started as a Sunday-only feature, with a daily added 7/3/49. The strip ended on 28/2/1954. Scripted throughout by Lawrence Lariar, it was drawn by John Spranger until June 1951, followed by Carl Pfeufer. It was published in Australian newspapers in the early 1950s.
